SMART TIPS TO KEEP YOUR EXCESSIVE SWEATING UNDER CONTROL

While sweating during the long summer months is almost guaranteed, there are little changes you can make to prevent the discomfort and embarrassment of sweat stains and body odour. Here are 15 little tips to help you keep your sweat under control.

  1. APPLY ANTIPERSPIRANT LIKE DRYSOL® AT NIGHT

As nighttime approaches, your body begins to cool, and you likely don’t think about putting antiperspirant like DRYSOL® on before bed. However, making this a habit can help you sweat less the following day. If you experience night sweats, it could be a sign of an underlying issue.

  1. AVOID SPICY FOOD

You aren’t imagining it; spicy food causes your body to heat up and perspire. If you’re worried about sweating while out on the town, avoid the spicy food options.

  1. CUT CAFFEINE

Caffeine can increase the amount of sweat you are producing as it activates a neurotransmitter called acetylcholine, which can stimulate your sweat glands.

  1. RELAX

Being active increases your chances of sweating, especially in hot weather. By resting as often as you can, you reduce the need for your body to produce sweat.

  1. BAKING SODA

If you’re in a pinch, baking soda acts as a natural alternative to antiperspirant, especially on more sensitive areas.

  1. GET A FAN

Cool down at your desk or at home with a fan, which is affordable, mobile, and convenient. Place a bowl of ice cubes in front of your fan for an added cooling effect.

  1. APPLY AN ANTIPERSPIRANT LIKE DRYSOL® TO COMPLETELY DRY SKIN

Many people apply deodorant or antiperspirant when they get out of the shower, but this is not always effective as your skin is still damp and moist. It is best to apply an antiperspirant like DRYSOL® when the skin is completely clean and dry, so eat breakfast first and apply your DRYSOL® after.

  1. ACUPUNCTURE

According to some experts, acupuncture can help reduce excessive sweating. What’s more, it will also provide pain and stress relief.

  1. APPLE CIDER VINEGAR

Apple cider vinegar helps control excessive sweating. Simply apply apple cider vinegar to clean, dry armpits in the evening and wash it off in the morning.

  1. WEAR BREATHABLE FABRICS

Wearing the right fabrics can help you stay sweat-free. Natural fibers like cotton and bamboo are good options, while you should stay away from synthetic fabrics like polyester and lycra.

  1. TOMATO JUICE

According to reports, tomato juice can help neutralize acids in the body, which reduces the amount of sweat your body produces.

  1. HYDRATE

Ironically, drinking lots of water aids in sweat prevention. Staying hydrated naturally cools the body, so it will take more intense heat to raise your body temperature and produce sweat.

  1. SHOWER

This is a no-brainer if you suffer from excessive sweat– shower as often as you can. Hair follicles hold on to sweat and bacteria, which means shaving or waxing can also help prevent body odour.

  1. CUT BACK ON DAIRY

Your body doesn’t digest everything the same way. Dairy makes the immune system work harder, which can increase your sweat production.

  1. WEAR DEODORANT

Deodorant prevents body odour caused by sweat. Use deodorant to prevent unpleasant smells throughout the day.

Treating excessive sweat does not have to be a challenge. By simply incorporating these little tips into your daily routine, you can manage your sweat and keep your cool.
